Jim Jeffries retired undefeated as the World Heavyweight Champion. In his prime he would either defeat or give any other Heavyweight Champion a furious fight.
Jeffries came back, overweight and out of shape and for money to fight Jack Johnson. He lost. He didn’t even take a warm up fight. He did it for the money and his heart wasn’t in it. He was too old.
In his prime, before his REAL retirement, it is my opinion at 6 foot 2 and 225 pound and with a left jab that could knock out a man(not to mention his terrible right), he is in the top 5 Heavyweight of all time. Jeffries, during his real tenure as a heavyweight trained incessently. He, like Marciano, was incredibly fit. He is said to have hunted full grown bears and carried them home on his shoulders.
Jeffries IS the most underrated Heavyweight Champion of all Time!
